GEPAT is a Community Based Organisation (CBO) which works in the whole country of Tanzania through existing local level structures such as Jumuia Ndogo Ndogo (JNN), self-help associations (for example Kufa na Kuzikana groups) communities starting with Kagera Region.

It was established by the Trustees Incorporation Act [cap 318 - R.E 2002 of the Laws of Tanzania ] in 2009.

The principle objectives of the GEPAT is to promote:

• Green movement
• Education, and
• Poverty alleviation
